Here in Central Texas, we are lucky to be a part of a vibrant community full of generous people and companies.
Individuals and organizations alike continue to sustain our efforts with selfless donations of their time and financial support, and we couldn’t do it without them. We rely on the support of these partners to be able to provide Central Texans with key relief services during emergencies—and to be prepared so that we can respond quickly when the next disaster strikes.
A great example of a local corporate partner is Silicon Labs, an Austin-based company with which we’ve had a long history of not only corporate support but employee support as well.
Since 2004, they have donated more than $170,000 to the American Red Cross of Central Texas. Their generosity has allowed us to provide vital relief in numerous disasters, including Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy, the Bastrop wildfires, the West, Texas fertilizer plant explosion, and so many others.
Linda Garrett, Philanthropy Liaison for Silicon Labs, recently spoke about the partnership between the company and the American Red Cross.
“Silicon Labs is committed to sharing our success with the community,” Garrett said. “When we give to the Red Cross, we know that we are providing vital assistance in times of disaster and spreading hope during difficult times. That’s what is so special about the Red Cross—it’s our way of giving back by turning compassion into action.”
The continued support of corporate partners like Silicon Labs is vital to our core mission, and we are incredibly grateful for their ongoing generosity. Their investment has allowed us to remain focused on providing care, shelter and hope to families across the Central Texas region.
