On Monday and throughout the week, the Red Cross will begin registering residents to begin the casework process, where they can sit down one-on-one to receive individual recovery assistance and referrals. People who visit the Assistance Center on Sunday for supplies and information will be encouraged to return in the days following, as more relief agencies become available on-site.

The City of Austin will arrange shuttle services from the Dittmar Recreation Center Shelter and the Del Valle area to the Dove Springs Recreation Center.

Recovering from a disaster can be a confusing process and it’s not always easy for people to find the help they need. The resource center is designed to bring together many relief agencies in one convenient location to provide support and help families on the road to recovery.

The Red Cross is working closing with partners in each of the impacted counties to open additional Assistance Centers in the coming days.
