Volunteer Specialist, Austin, TX

The Volunteer Services Specialist implements and participates in helping volunteers increase Red Cross visibility through program/service delivery for the 10 counties that make up the Central Texas Chapter.  This person will recruit, interview, place, train and conduct follow-up with volunteers to support Chapter operations. Conducts needs assessment with Chapter leadership and staff to determine volunteer opportunities and develops plan for implementation.

The Volunteer Specialist is a primary contact, trainer and administrator for volunteer database systems and volunteer job descriptions/summaries.  They assign and coordinate volunteers on project assignments, manage the volunteer recruitment and intake processes, as well as coordinate and execute volunteer recognition initiatives and programs.

Networks with colleges/universities to develop campus-based Red Cross volunteer opportunities, and works with employers to develop Red Cross volunteer opportunities for their employees.
